Local volunteers are integral to the IHF Centers. They do what other volunteers cannot: communicate, counsel and teach in the local language. By gaining experience with an international organization characterized by cultural and national diversity, they act as language translators and cultural bridges for international volunteers. They often find themselves meeting and making friends with people from all around the world. Local volunteers - many of whom are expatriates - gain a deeper understanding of the issues happening around their communities and they help IHF advocate for those whose voices often go unnoticed.
This position is only available at our Indonesian centers. Your role will be dependent on the centers’ needs. Most likely you will be teaching math or computer classes in Bahasa Indonesia. You will be contacted for an on-site interview with Co-Directors at the center if you are shortlisted.
