[SD 2 Math]
Gong Ageng is the largest hanging gong in Javanese Gamelan and the heaviest item in gamelan. It also the lowest pitched gong in the gamelan. It has a flat surface with a protruding knob at the center of the sphere. Although Gong Ageng is the largest and heaviest of all gongs, the player has to play very gentle on Gong Ageng. Gong Ageng is the most important instrument in a Javanese Gamelan. It is also believed that Gong Ageng is the spirit of the gamelan, hence, it is the most respected item in a Gamelan. This is the reason why we named the class with "Gong Ageng" as the students aptness to position themselves as a leader as well as a gentle listener.
